Summer Stress Is Real — Let’s Talk About It

You’d think that with the sunshine, long days, and slower pace, stress would ease up a little in the summer. But here’s the truth: it just shifts.

Lately, I’ve found myself torn between spending lazy afternoons in the pool with my grandkids (my favorite kind of joy) and wanting to stay creative, productive, and present in my work.
That tug-of-war creates a new flavor of stress—one that feels like:
👉 “I want to rest, but I can’t sit still.”
👉 “I want to play, but I feel guilty.”
👉 “I want to feel good, but my body is tired and wired.”

Summer stress is sneaky.
It may not feel as heavy as winter burnout, but it still affects your body—your mood, digestion, hormones, and sleep.

When you’re stuck in that cycle of go-go-go and never quite doing enough (even when you’re doing a lot), your nervous system stays in fight-or-flight mode. Over time, that constant hum of pressure becomes your norm—and that’s not okay.

Here’s what I know for sure:
🌿 Your body needs calm just as much as it needs action.
🌿 Your gut health deeply impacts your emotions.
🌿 Your breath, your movement, and even your connection with nature are medicine.
🌿 And you can train your nervous system to come out of survival mode and into safety.

This season, I’m giving myself permission to feel both the pull of play and the need for presence. To float in the pool and honor my purpose.
To stop wearing stress like a badge of honor and instead, lean into rhythm, rest, and natural support.

If you’re feeling this too, you’re not alone.
And it’s okay to slow down—even when the sun is out.
