Reset after the Holidays

Post Holiday Reset

Okay, so the holidays are mostly over. Are you feeling like I am? December swept in with its usual whirlwind of holiday cheer, family gatherings, and endless to-do lists. For me, it also came with a move to a sweeter, more cozy apartment. It’s been a month of chaos wrapped in glitter and bows—and I loved it. But flowing with the season of rest and ease, and knowing just how busy things would get, I gave myself a little gift: permission. Permission to not stress about my diet. Permission to skip a workout here and there. Permission to simply enjoy the season.

And it was worth it… mostly. But let’s be real: my body is telling me it’s time to clean things up. The indulgences have left their mark. I’ve gained a few pounds, my candida monster (yes, it’s a thing!) has made an unwelcome return, and my energy isn’t where I want it to be.

So, now what?

It’s time to gently recalibrate. January is the perfect month to reset and refocus, and I’m here for it. If you’re feeling like I am, here are a few ways we can approach this post-holiday clean-up together—with compassion and intention:

1. Hydrate Like Your Life Depends On It

First things first: water. Your body is begging for hydration after all those celebratory drinks, salty snacks, and sweets. Add a squeeze of lemon or a drop of doTERRA Lemon essential oil to your water for an extra detox boost. Aim for at least half your body weight in ounces each day.

2. Bring Back the Balance

The holidays are notoriously carb-heavy, and while there’s nothing wrong with indulging, it’s time to bring in some balance. Focus on whole foods: fresh vegetables, lean proteins, healthy fats, and plenty of fiber. Think of it as nourishing your body, not punishing it.

3. Gentle Movement

Ease back into a routine without overdoing it. Start with walks, yoga (I’ve got some great classes on YouTube, or offer Private Yoga if you are in Boise Idaho!), or light strength training. Movement doesn’t have to be intense to be effective.

4. Support Your Gut

This is a big one for me. Overindulgence can mess with your gut health, so probiotics and fermented foods are back on my plate. I’ll also be using doTERRA’s DigestZen essential oil blend to support my digestion.

5. Rest and Reflect

The hustle of the holidays often leaves us drained. Prioritize rest and sleep, and take some time to reflect on the season. What brought you joy? What do you want to carry into the new year? Journaling or meditation can help center you as you step into January.

6. Essential Oils for Support

As always, I’ll be turning to my oils. A few of my go-tos this time of year include:

  • Lemon: for detox and energy.
  • Peppermint: to boost focus and digestion.
  • Lavender: to promote relaxation and rest.

7. Regular Cleansing for Gut Health

One of the most important steps in restoring balance in our bodies is a regular gut cleanse. Our gut health is central to so many aspects of our overall wellness, from digestion to mental clarity to immune function. When our gut is out of balance, it can lead to a host of issues, including bloating, fatigue, skin problems, mood swings, and even weakened immunity.

That’s why I’m so excited about our upcoming group cleanse starting in January! Doing a cleanse as part of a group offers so many benefits: shared motivation, accountability, and a sense of community. Plus, you’ll receive unlimited education and support throughout the process, so you’re never navigating it alone. Together, we’ll learn how to nourish our bodies, reset our systems, and build lasting habits that support optimal health. I am part of a group cleanse hosted each quarter.

By joining this cleanse, you’ll gain access to tools, recipes, and expert guidance—everything you need to make the most of your reset. Whether you’re new to cleansing or a seasoned pro, there’s something for everyone. Let’s start the year strong and support each other in reclaiming our health and energy!

Let’s Be Realistic

This isn’t about perfection. It’s about listening to what your body needs and showing up for yourself. For me, that means acknowledging the fun I had in December and gently transitioning into healthier habits. No guilt, just gratitude for the memories and motivation for the reset.

How are you feeling post-holidays? Let’s tackle this reset together!
